Mendoza

Here´s my little recap of the last 4 days in English.

We took the night bus from BA to Mendoza Monday at 8pm.
It was the best night travelling experience EVER!!!
The seats were large and could become beds (horizontal).
We also had a 2 services meal, wine and a very light breakfast.
Unfortunately, there was not Champagne but the experience was
still way better than any bus ride I have experienced before!!
Now, I want such seats for all my flights. Well I wish :)
Fun facts:
-In the bus, the driver assistant/waiter told us to close the curtains once we would get on the highway. Why? Because, there were incidents where ´stuff´was thrown on the bus so the curtains could retain the objects...He added that it did not happen for a little while though...Niiiice!
-There was a bingo (just 1 card) in the bus!!! None of us won though, he he.

For our first day in Mendoza (Tuesday), we just walked around the city. We cant
say Mendoza is a very nice city so it was a little disappointing.

On Wednesday, we rented bikes to visit wineries in the Maipu area.
What could have been a quiet bike ride through the wineries happened to be
a stressing ride since we were riding in a street where 18 wheels trucks were
passing by. I did not like this at all!!!! I was happy to come back alive...!
We visited 3 wineries and it was very interesting. Tasting wine in a beautiful
sunny day was also very nice. And yes I did buy some interesting bottles!

On Thursday, we woke up at 5 am to take the 6 am bus to the Aconcagua National
Park. It was 4 hours ride to the park entrace but it was well worth it.
The scenery was MIND BLOWING!! It was not a ´walk in the park´ since we were
at 2800 meters above the sea level so any effort (walking up a smal hill)
is more demanding. The high altitude gave me quite a headache as well. But
again, it was VERY beautiful. Ilkka, I thought of you often since I am sure
you would have love to see this!

Today, we take it easy...Its the laundry/internet/not running to visit/take a bus day! We will visit the citys foundation and have a nice dinner tonight. We leave Mendoza tomorrow.

I think of you often as well Julie. Your little trips sounds very interesting and 'challenging' - glad that you're alive after playing 'the chicken' with 18 wheelers.

Thanks for the call - sorry for me being 'a bit tired' and not in this world while we spoke.

All the best for the rest of your trip - thanks for the video it was nice one... miss you...
